Jody Lingafeldt
Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Colorado Mesa University

Jody Lingafeldt brings more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience and over 20 years in elite youth soccer. She was named the sixth head women’s soccer coach in Colorado Mesa University history in spring 2024 after spending five seasons at NCAA Division I UC Davis, where she served as the Aggies’ top assistant and lead recruiter. During her tenure, UC Davis achieved some of the best results in program history, including multiple 10-win seasons, a second-place Big West finish, and landmark wins over nationally ranked and Power Five opponents.

Lingafeldt has also coached at the Division II level at Dominican University and Sonoma State, helping lead teams to NCAA Tournament appearances, conference titles, and record-setting academic success. A veteran recruiter and player developer, she has mentored numerous All-Conference and All-American honorees.

In addition to collegiate coaching, Lingafeldt serves on the US Youth Soccer National ODP staff and as a head coach for the ODP West Region Girls. She holds a USSF “B” Coaching License, a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration, and is a longtime leader within top Northern California youth clubs.


Tony Huerta
Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach, UC Riverside

Tony Huerta enters his first season at UC Riverside in 2025 as an assistant women’s soccer coach, working primarily with goalkeepers. He brings over a decade of coaching experience and holds a USSF “B” License along with a USSF National C Goalkeeping License.

Huerta previously spent two seasons as an assistant coach with California Baptist men’s soccer, helping lead the program to back-to-back WAC championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, including an NCAA Tournament win in 2023. He has also played a key role in the development of professional players now with LAFC and Austin FC II.

A Riverside native, Huerta has extensive experience coaching locally at Riverside Poly and with elite youth clubs, currently serving as a director and coach with Legends FC. He played collegiately at San Bernardino Valley College and Hope International, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in education.


Connor Artigue
Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Hawaii Pacific University

Connor Artigue, a California native, returns to O‘ahu after serving as an assistant coach for the HPU men’s soccer program from 2020–2023. During his tenure, the Sharks captured the 2020 Hawai‘i Pod Championship and earned a top-four PacWest finish with a 6-2-2 conference record.

Artigue has been a long-standing leader in the Hawai‘i soccer community, founding an after-school youth soccer program that served more than 2,500 students annually and partnering with over 50 schools and parks. He also served as an Advancement Director for a local club and as a head coach with the Hawai‘i Olympic Development Program.

At the elite level, Artigue signed with the Seattle Sounders Futures Academy in 2021 and worked as an MLS scout in Hawai‘i, helping place multiple local players into professional academies. Most recently, he coached MLS NEXT teams in San Diego, promoting 12 players to professional academies in the U.S., Mexico, and abroad. In 2024, he made his professional coaching debut as an assistant coach with Redlands FC (USL2), overseeing match analysis and opponent scouting.

Artigue is a UCSB graduate and holds a US Soccer “B” License.


Damir Sabanovic
Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach, Idaho State University

Damir Sabanovic is an assistant coach for the Idaho State University women’s soccer program, contributing to coaching, player development, and team operations at the NCAA Division I level. He joined the Bengals’ staff in support of Head Coach Dustin Downey and Assistant Coach Adam Nerio.

Prior to his role at Idaho State, Sabanovic served on the women’s soccer coaching staff at Westminster University, where he worked with student-athletes in practice, training, and competitive preparation.

Sabanovic has deep roots in collegiate soccer and a strong background in the game, including experience as a collegiate goalkeeper. His experiences as both a player and coach provide a solid foundation for developing student-athletes on and off the field.

At Idaho State, he helps guide the Bengals as they compete in the Big Sky Conference, focusing on recruitment, tactical training, and daily team performance


Kaula Rowe
Associate Head Coach, University of Hawaii

Kaula Rowe enters her fifth season with the University of Hawai‘i women’s soccer program in 2025 and her third as associate head coach. She joined the Rainbow Wahine staff prior to the 2021 season after previously serving as a head coach at Chaminade University and spending five years leading youth and high school soccer programs in Alaska.

Rowe has played a key role in the most successful stretch in program history, helping guide UH to its first-ever Big West regular season title in 2024. That season saw the Rainbow Wahine set school records for conference wins (8-1-1), points in the Big West standings, and a nine-match unbeaten streak. She coached three Big West Players of the Year in 2024 and helped the program earn a program-record seven all-conference selections.

A strong advocate for academic excellence, Rowe has helped 26 student-athletes earn Big West Academic Honor Roll recognition, along with multiple Academic All-District honors. She also helped lead Hawai‘i to its second-ever Big West Championship Tournament appearance in 2023.

As a player, Rowe starred at the University of Nevada, where she remains the program’s all-time leading goal scorer. She earned her degree from Nevada in 2004.


James Sasiadek
Assistant Coach, Philippines U17 National Team

James Sasiadek is a respected soccer coach and the Founder & President of Hawai‘i Soccer Academy, one of the premier youth soccer development programs in Hawaii, where he leads the club’s coaching initiatives and player pathway development.

At Hawai‘i Soccer Academy, Sasiadek oversees coaching education, curriculum structure, and athlete development across age groups, helping provide organized, age-appropriate training and opportunities for college and professional exposure. His staff includes nationally licensed coaches, and the academy emphasizes both soccer excellence and personal growth.

Sasiadek holds advanced coaching credentials, including a National “B” coaching license and is a National “A” License candidate, reflecting his commitment to high-level coaching education.

Beyond his academy leadership, Sasiadek has also been named an assistant coach for the Philippines U17 Women’s National Team (PWNFT), bringing international experience and development expertise to the national program ahead of the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers.

In addition to his coaching roles, Sasiadek serves in leadership positions within the local soccer community, including on the Oahu League board, helping shape the direction of youth soccer on the island.


Matt Deemer
Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach, University of Portland

Matthew Deemer joined the Portland Pilots men’s soccer staff ahead of the 2023 season as an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator, and goalkeeper coach. In his first season, Deemer helped guide Portland to a 12-5 overall record, a 5-2 WCC finish, and the program’s third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Pilots earned an 11-seed and first-round bye for the first time since 1988, while producing 10 All-WCC honorees, three WCC major awards, multiple All-Region and All-American selections, and a program-record three players selected in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

Prior to Portland, Deemer spent three seasons at the University of San Diego, where he helped lead the Toreros to a WCC championship and an undefeated conference season in 2021, along with their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014. Working primarily with goalkeepers, he coached the WCC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year and was named to the United Soccer Coaches West Region Coaching Staff of the Year.

Deemer has also coached at San Diego State and the University of Saint Katherine, and brings extensive experience at the youth, high school, and elite academy levels, including time with LA Galaxy San Diego and MLS NEXT programs. A former collegiate goalkeeper at Chapman University, Deemer is uniquely accomplished as both a player and coach, earning CIF Player of the Year and later CIF Coach of the Year honors, becoming the only individual to achieve both within a four-year span.


David Diaz
Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach, San Diego State University

David Diaz is in his third season with San Diego State men’s soccer and was elevated to a full-time assistant coach prior to the 2025 season. He brings more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience as both an assistant and goalkeeper coach. During his time on The Mesa, SDSU has been nationally ranked each season and established itself as one of the top defensive programs on the West Coast.

In 2024, SDSU went undefeated in its first season in the WAC (7-0-1) to win the regular-season championship, recording six shutouts and 10 total wins—the program’s most since 2011. The Aztecs produced a school-record six All-WAC honorees, including Goalkeeper of the Year, and had a player selected in the MLS SuperDraft. In 2023, SDSU opened the season with a school-record 651 scoreless minutes and rose as high as No. 17 nationally.

Diaz has coached at multiple collegiate levels, including stops at Cal State San Marcos, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal Poly Pomona, Whittier College, and Hope International. He is also a head coach with Albion Soccer Club and has extensive experience leading elite youth programs throughout Southern California.

A Whittier, California native, Diaz was a standout collegiate goalkeeper at Whittier College and holds a USSF C Coaching License, along with United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and Goalkeeper Level Three Diploma. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and nutritional sciences from Whittier College.


Mariano Fazio
Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach, Colorado State University Pueblo

Mariano Fazio is an assistant men’s soccer coach at Colorado State University Pueblo, joining the ThunderWolves’ staff in June 2025. He brings strong experience as both a high-level player and developing coach to CSU Pueblo’s NCAA Division II program.

Fazio recently served as a graduate assistant coach at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he helped guide the Mustangs to an outstanding 35-3-4 record over two seasons.

Before his coaching career, Fazio was a standout collegiate defender at the University of Tulsa, where he was a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American and twice named AAC Defensive Player of the Year, contributing to nine team shutouts. He began his collegiate playing career at Richland Community College, earning two NJCAA All-American honors and leading his team to back-to-back national championships.

Fazio’s background as a successful student-athlete and his experience coaching at the collegiate level provide a foundation for developing technical skills, tactical understanding, and competitive confidence in players.


Kevin Moon
Head Men’s Soccer Coach, Whitworth University

Kevin Moon is the head men’s soccer coach at Whitworth University, having been named interim head coach for the 2023 season and promoted to full-time head coach following a 12-4-4 campaign that included a 10-2-4 Northwest Conference record. A former Whitworth player (1988–1991), Moon won three conference championships during his collegiate career under Hall of Fame coach Einar Thorarinsson.

Moon has deep ties to Whitworth’s soccer programs, serving multiple stints as an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s teams, helping guide squads to conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances.

Beyond collegiate coaching, Moon is the founder and director of Spokane Soccer Academy, developing players through age 19 with a focus on technical skills, and serves as Director of Coaching for Spokane Sounders Girls, a role he’s held since 2001 while coaching across all age groups in the Shadow/Sounders organization.

Moon holds a USSF National “A” Coaching License and has served as an ODP Staff Coach for both Washington (2008–2010) and Idaho (2014), bringing extensive experience in player development and elite youth coaching.


David “Bingy” Lara
Head of Academy Recruitment, Seattle Sounders

David “Bingy” Lara is the Head of Academy Recruitment for the Seattle Sounders FC Academy (MLS), where he leads identification and development of elite youth talent across the club’s academy system. In this role, he helps uncover promising players and guide their pathway toward college and professional soccer.

A native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Lara played youth soccer with NM Striker FC and went on to play at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and later assisted with the men’s soccer program as a student and volunteer coach.

Lara began his coaching career as a graduate assistant and assistant coach with the Morehead State University women’s soccer program while completing his master’s degree in counseling. He then served as an assistant coach with Real Monarchs during their early USL Championship seasons before moving to the Pacific Northwest, where he spent several years in youth development roles including Technical Director at Federal Way Football Club and Director of Talent Identification for Seattle United, working especially with ECNL programs.

From 2018–2021, Lara was a US Soccer Federation Youth National Team Network ID scout in Washington, helping identify top regional prospects for national youth teams. He joined the Sounders Academy in 2022 and has since been central to recruiting and developing the next generation of MLS and college‑level players.  Bingy currently holds is USSF A License & USSF Scouting License.

David lives in the Seattle area with his wife, Anna, and their children, Caius and Mabel.


Kiki Lara
Men’s Soccer Coach, University of the Incarnate Word

Ricardo “ Kiki” Lara, was a three-time All-American, two-time Academic All-American and UIW Hall of Fame member.  He was named the head coach of the men’s soccer program on Dec. 20, 2019.

An 11-year veteran college soccer coach, Lara spent the previous five years at Eastern Illinois University, both as the EIU director of soccer and the head men’s coach. Prior to EIU, Lara spent six seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Dayton where he was named the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Assistant Coach of the Year for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Lara also spent one season as an assistant with Washington State.

Before his coaching career, the Las Cruces, N.M., native spent five years playing professional soccer, where he had over 100 appearances for the Portland Timbers and the Minnesota Thunder. He helped lead the Thunder to the 2004 US Open Cup quarterfinals and the 2005 US Open Cup semifinals. In 2007, he guided the Timbers to a USL 1 League runner up finish and a semifinalist playoff finish. Lara was named the 2005 Community Player of the Year for the Thunder and the 2007 Community Player of the Year for the Timbers

During Lara’s four years as a student-athlete at UIW, Lara was voted the Heartland Conference Most Valuable Player three times and was the Heartland Male Student-Athlete of the Year as a senior. Lara was also voted the UIW Male Athlete of the Year and the UIW Student-Athlete of the Year in 2002 and 2003.

Lara graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 2004. He and his wife, Ashley, have four children.
